Polished toes peeked out from a sea of white crinoline. I adore the moment when a bride is swallowed up by her dress with just her hands and feet peeking out. It is a light hearted moment in the midst of a very busy morning at the Hotel Monaco.
Andrea and Kyle tied the knot at the Carlyle House in Alexandria. It is a beautiful garden in the heart of the city, tucked away behind mature trees and a beautiful historic Manor House. The ceremony was set in a circle around the white gazebo. Friends and family watched intently as the couple said their vows surrounded by love and the warmth of a summer’s day.
We walked the streets of Old Town capturing some beautiful portraits in all my favorite places. I especially love the in-between moments where Andrea and Kyle were walking with their bridal party amongst the crowds on the streets that day. I also love the fun jumping shot of the bridal party. It makes me smile even now when I think about it.
The reception was at the Columbia Firehouse. The perfect choice for their cocktail reception. I loved the tower of fresh donuts in leu of a wedding cake and the handmade soaps that Andrea’s mom made with names such as Raspberry Porter and Honey Ale. Perfectly themed for their special day. The evening ended with lots of dancing and celebrating.
