Party of 2! This couple – In the middle of a pandemic, they put everyone else’s safety above their dreams for a big wedding day celebration. They wanted everyone to be safe, but they still wanted to get married. Answer: They did all of their special wedding moments on Zoom. Hair and make-up, the bride reveal, ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, toasts… yes, Everything! I was honored to spend the day with Carrie + Tony and document their special moments from start to finish. These two are super amazing people and so thoughtful. After taking pictures at so many DC locations, Tony went and bought lunch for us at the Lincoln Memorial food stand so we could all have a break and a bite to eat.
Even though Carrie + Tony’s guests could not attend, they still wanted to have a grand day. So, we went all over the city taking pictures at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Gardens, the DC War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and by the reflecting pool. It was a busy morning! Then off to the ceremony at Elizabeth’s on L. What a charming location! Their art deco style full bar made quite the grand entrance. Gorgeous artwork, antiques and ornate chandeliers provide a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and reception. Carrie + Tony had such a special day and didn’t sacrifice any of the “big day” events. It made me smile to see the laughter and smiles of friends and family over Zoom. It warmed my heart to see Carrie + Tony so happy. To hear their guests express their gratitude for their selflessness, wanting everyone to be safe, even though it was their wedding day. What caring people. So, I wanted to honor them by doing something a little differently on this post. I wanted to showcase the two of them, but give a shout out to all of the grooms out there. Tony is my feature in this post. I let him take center stage – but of course Carrie gets lots of pictures in the mix too. Tony + Carrie, I am so happy for you.
