Yes, you read that correctly… The Fairfax County Park Authority is charging families $100 and requiring they also get a permit to take family pictures in local parks.
As many of you know, I have dedicated countless hours over the past few months to research and write letters to the Fairfax County Park Authority to try and get this law overturned. The Fairfax County Park Authority currently has a law in place that says families have to pay a $100 fee and apply for a permit (which takes 5 days to acquire) to take family pictures in our free (taxpayer funded) public parks. These fees are unfair and evidence clearly shows that the fees are discriminatory and hurt local families and small businesses. This law is up for review on January 21, 2015.
Show your support and get this law overturned! Come and tell the Park Authority that you oppose this fee!
