Joanna and Drew celebrated their gorgeous wedding day at The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. It was a whirlwind of events from the moment we started which always makes the day a lot of fun. Getting ready photographs were at their Alexandria home with several cute four legged friends, eagerly wanting to be a part of the celebration. Being history buffs, I enjoyed capturing wedding details among their Civil War memorabilia. Then off to a beautiful ceremony at Georgetown’s Dahlgren Chapel. The historic Chapel is gorgeous and the surrounding campus made for beautiful portraits among the fresco paintings, ornate chandeliers and gothic revival architecture. I personally love the sweet quiet moments and romantic settings of Healy Hall. And of course their family would not be complete without their favorite pooch, Rupert, making a grand appearance by limo in his bow tie and matching lead. He led the way for their bubble exit and graced many of the couple’s portraits. The evening was full of energy and everyone danced the night away. Some of the fun details included a candy bar, sweets station and a parting favor filled with treats made by the bride’s mother.
Joanna and Drew’s day was filled with beauty, fun moments and laughter. I would be remiss if I did not mention their amazing planner, A. Dominick Events. Their attention to detail, creativity, warmth and kindness to all guests and vendors was wonderful to be a part of. Their passion and knowledge of weddings made the day flow smoothly and for this busy day was wonderful to be under their direction. Now, on to the beautiful photographs of this wonderful couple!
