It was a wet afternoon a few Saturdays ago. I had heard that Katy has all the luck with her special days so I was hoping for a gorgeous day. Little did I know Katy’s luck was coming through after all. The following day, we had hail, snow and rain all at the same time! That would have been a crazy wedding day!
The rain certainly did not deter anyone’s spirits. Katy and Brian laughed their way through the day, carefree and in love. Even though it was raining buckets!, we took the limo all around Old Town Alexandria to all of the spots we had chosen for portraits. I must confess, I am almost glad it rained. The fog on the water, the raindrops dripping off umbrellas… we captured some beautiful movements during their rainy day portraits.
At the reception, Katy and Brian used antique milk bottles as their flower vases. The bottles were from Brian’s family’s dairy farm. The table numbers were photos from their engagement session where Katy and Brian held a small chalkboard sign with the table number on it. A fun idea and so appropriate since Katy is a teacher.
Now, here are the moments…
