There’s something magical about fall at Scarlet Springs Farm, and our recent styled wedding shoot captured every ounce of it. This scenic farm, with rolling hills, stunning sunsets, and those adorable baby highland cows with their long, shaggy coats, was the perfect backdrop for an autumn-inspired shoot. I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful setup, bringing together a talented team of local vendors who each added something unique to the day. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our vendors and their contributions, along with a peek into the stunning details that brought our vision to life.
The Venue: Scarlet Springs Farm @scarletspringsfarm
Nestled in the heart of the Loudoun County countryside, Scarlet Springs Farm boasts spectacular views and a charming, rustic atmosphere perfect for any wedding celebration. Known for their signature highland cows, who are friendly and always camera-ready, the farm offers a true countryside experience for guests. The breathtaking mountain views, sparkling twinkle lights creating an elegant dinner setting in the woods, and incredible sunsets, made the golden-hour photos unforgettable. The venue’s warmth and natural beauty were a dream come true.
The Rentals: Brooke Rental @brookerental
Brooke Rental supplied the elegant vintage furnishings that transformed the farm’s rustic setting into a romantic, bohemian oasis. They have a long history of curating rental pieces for every style, and their collection ranges from timeless furniture to unique decor items. For our shoot, they provided a mix of earthy tones and textures that highlighted the season’s autumnal vibe. From weathered wooden tables to cozy lounge seating, every detail added character and charm.
The Florist: Danielly’s Boutique @daniellysboutique
Danielly’s Boutique was the creative force behind the floral arrangements that made the shoot come alive. They’re known for bold, bespoke arrangements, and Danielly and her team outdid themselves. Rich textures and fresh sweet smelling blooms complemented the fall color palette perfectly. The bouquet and floral decor featured neutral tones, burnt oranges, and lush greens, giving every shot a pop of seasonal color and textures. Their attention to detail and artistry made the florals a standout feature.
Catering: Magnolia’s at the Mill @magnoliasmill
Magnolia’s at the Mill, a favorite for locally-sourced, farm-to-table cuisine, provided a delicious spread that fit the rustic-chic vibe of the shoot. Their team has been serving gourmet food inspired by the flavors of Virginia for years, and their presentation was exquisite. With everything from seasonal appetizers to artistically plated dinners, Magnolia’s attention to quality and flavor was evident in every bite. The food added an extra layer of luxury that brought the entire theme together.
Hair: Zoe’s Hair Salon @zoeshairsalon
Zoe’s Hair Salon, known for their expertise in creating bridal looks that are timeless yet modern, styled the bride’s hair into a loose, romantic updo. Zoe and her team have a long-standing reputation for perfecting every detail, and this look was no exception. The effortless, slightly tousled style was ideal for an outdoor shoot, bringing an ethereal quality that flowed beautifully with the natural surroundings.
Make-up: Melissa Franklin Studios @mfranklinstudioandboutique
Melissa Franklin Studios brought their makeup artistry to the shoot with a look that was soft yet striking, emphasizing the bride’s natural beauty. Melissa’s approach is all about enhancing her clients’ features with subtlety, and her years of experience showed in every detail. The warm tones she chose echoed the fall color palette, perfectly complementing the surrounding scenery and ensuring the bride looked radiant from every angle.
Mobile Bar: Hailey’s Bar Garden @haileysbargarden
Adding a touch of charm to the shoot, Hailey’s Bar Garden offered a unique mobile bar experience. They’re known for their adorable vintage setup and custom drink options, making them a favorite for wedding celebrations. Hailey crafted a custom fall-inspired cocktail menu just for this shoot, featuring warm spices, apple cider, and rich bourbons—perfect for the season. The bar setup, complete with neon lights and seasonal decor, added a cozy and festive vibe to the shoot.
