Toni and Wes are destined to have a lifetime of adventures. I know because their wedding was amazingly fun and totally crazy all at the same time! It is hard to spring something new on me. After photographing weddings for 14 years, I have seen a lot of great weddings with interesting themes and new ways to kick off the day. This was however, the first time I have ever seen a couple send up Japanese lanterns after their wedding ceremony. I was super excited at the thought and could not wait to see the lanterns floating into the brilliant blue sky. Well, I must say things did not go as we had all envisioned! A few lanterns got hung up in a nearby tree and some caught on fire! Luckily there was a hose that the groom used to put out the smoldering lanterns and the brave photographer that I am, stomped out some flaming lanterns… melting the bottoms of my shoes!
