Welcome to the World, Sloane! | Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

There is something so incredibly special about welcoming a new life into the world, and I was honored to capture the first portraits of sweet baby Sloane just under two weeks after her arrival. As a Northern Virginia newborn photographer, I’m always amazed at the beauty and emotion that comes with these early days—and this session was no exception.

Sloane’s session took place in the comfort of her family’s home, which is one of my favorite ways to photograph newborns. I bring everything needed—props, cozy blankets, soft swaddles, lighting, and more—so parents don’t have to worry about a thing. The home environment is relaxed and familiar, making it ideal for both baby and family. Everything they need is right at their fingertips, which brings such peace of mind during this precious and transitional season.

One of the best parts about an in-home newborn session is that it’s perfect for families with older siblings. Sloane’s big sister was able to play with her toys and enjoy her space until it was time to join in for photos. This natural flow helps siblings feel included, not pressured—resulting in genuine smiles and sweet sibling moments that parents treasure.

Sloane was an absolute dream during her session, and the love between this family was so beautiful to witness. From snuggly swaddled poses to tender family portraits, this gallery is full of love, joy, and the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

Welcome to the world, baby Sloane. You are so very loved. 💕
